Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! As a Registered Massage Therapist and active member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia, your receipts are eligible for reimbursement by your insurance provider.

  • Osteopathic manual therapy is not covered by MSP since we are not physicians. However, some extended benefit plans do cover osteopathy when provided by an Osteopathy BC member. Check with your insurance provider for details. Felicia can direct bill providers set up with the Telus Health and Sunlife portals.

  • You’re welcome to arrive about 5 minutes early. This allows time for check-in and to settle in before your session begins.

  • Please bring any relevant medical imaging (X-rays, CT scans, MRIs) or test results that pertain to your situation. An initial intake form will be emailed to you before your first appointment for completion.

  • Comfortable, stretchy clothing is best—such as sweatpants or shorts paired with a tank top or cotton t-shirt—to allow for a full range of movement during your treatment.

  • Currently, Felicia bills directly to Canada Life, Manulife, and Sunlife.

  • The first follow-up appointment is typically scheduled within 1–2 weeks after your initial consultation, and many clients begin to notice progress within the first 1–3 appointments. Follow-up visits are usually scheduled every 2–4 weeks based on your individual needs. Additionally, many patients use treatment on an as-needed basis—monthly, quarterly, or even annually—as everyone requires a different level of care.

  • No referral is required to see an osteopathic manual practitioner or massage therapist, unless your insurance company specifically asks for one.

  • After treatment, it’s best to rest at home—if your body signals that it needs sleep, feel free to take a nap. For treatments addressing painful conditions, avoid strenuous activity for 2 days, even if you feel pain-free, and opt for light exercise instead. Walking is a great choice if it’s already part of your daily routine and feels comfortable. Follow any medication instructions from your doctor. Occasionally, symptoms might feel worse before they improve, typically lasting 1–2 days; if they persist beyond 48 hours, please contact Felicia. The number of treatments required varies with each individual and condition.

  • The cancellation policy is strictly enforced in respect to Felicia’s time and the patient waitlist. Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. If cancellation is made with less than 24 hours’ notice, you will be required to pay the full session price. If cancellation is made with more than 48 hours’ notice, there is no charge. Emergencies or unforeseen circumstances are always taken into consideration. Felicia’s answering machine and email are monitored regularly.
